FAQ
DO RESIDENTS NEED TO GET APPROVAL BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES TO THE EXTERIOR OF THEIR HOME OR LOT?
Yes, as a member of the Glendale Homeowners’ Association living in a deeded community, you are obligated to follow the declaration, guidelines, and bylaws of the HOA. You are required to have your plans approved for all projects prior to the start of the project. Please become familiar with these documents.HOW DO I OBTAIN APPROVAL FOR AN EXTERIOR MODIFICATION TO MY LOT OR HOME?
If you are planning any exterior modifications to your home or lot, please be reminded prior approval from the HOA is required before any work may begin. It is the home owner’s responsibility to begin the design process by providing in writing a detailed summary of the changes requested. This includes a plat map of the lot, landscape drawing, color scheme, product information, plans, and approximate date for the work to begin. The more information you provide initially the less chance we will need to request more, and remember to provide the HOA enough turnaround time for the approval process to take place. The following is a summary of the process: 1. Send your request either by email or mail to: Glendale Village HOA C/O James Hodinka 3790 Old Hickory Ave NW Canton, Ohio 44718 Email: jhodinka@gmail.com HOA Email: hoa@glendalevillagehoa.com 2. Receive approval letter from the HOA 3. Obtain any/all permits from Jackson Township and Stark County This is your responsibility. Some contractors assist with this process. 4. Common areas are the land that Glendale Village HOA owns and maintains for the benefit of the members. The HOA owns around 13 acres of land and a lake, and we mow various sections on a weekly, bi weekly, monthly, and two times a year basis. Some of the land is wooded; therefore, no maintenance is needed. We also own the lake at the end of Salt Marsh Circle along with two retention ponds. This land may be used by all members for their enjoyment. We do ask members to help keep these areas free of debris and to pick up all pet droppings.bottom of page
